There are essentially two types of brain injury : Traumatic Brain injury , known as TBI or Acquired Brain Injury known as ABI. Cases of TBI are caused by blows to the head that in turn, cause the brain to move inside the skull. ABIs are most often associated with pressure being placed on the brain and sometimes come from strokes or other neurological issues. Both types of brain injuries can lead to changes in physical, perceptual, cognitive and behavioral functions. If a brain injury is suspected, it’s important to watch carefully for any of these symptoms: Physical Symptoms
Perceptual Symptoms
Cognitive Symptoms
Behavioral Symptoms
If these symptoms do not resolve quickly, the person may have a brain injury. Often, long-term physical and speech therapies are required to help the patient regain these functions and live a reasonably normal life. The cost of treatment may be high, so if assistance is needed, contact Rozek Law in Milwaukee to discuss the options that may be available to you and your family.
