Three people, including an infant, were injured Thursday when a logging truck and an SUV collided in Wisconsin.

According to various media reports, the incident took place Thursday morning on Highway 97 near Marshfield.
“Three people, including an infant, were seriously injured. The truck left the road and overturned in a ditch,” according to an article by WSAU. “The Marathon County Sheriff’s Department says the crash happened around 8am near Stadt Avenue. The road remained closed into the afternoon as accident investigators and a fuel clean-up team worked in the area.”
Two other vehicles were reportedly struck with debris that occurred when the truck and SUV collided. A vacant building near the scene of the crash was also reportedly damaged as a result of the collision.
“The injured were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield,” the article reads.
The cause of the accident is under investigation and the article does not mention which vehicle was at fault or whether or not anyone was charged in connection to the incident. There’s also no information that has been released in regards to the extent of the injuries sustained or the condition of those injured as of Friday night.
According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, there was an average of 6,301 large truck crashes from 2009 to 2014, an average of 68 large truck fatalities and an average of 1,975 large truck injury crashes.
