Two people were killed Wednesday afternoon after a head-on collision on Highway 70.
The Lakeland Times reports that a 57-year-old female from St. Germain was driving westbound when she crossed the center line and struck a vehicle traveling eastbound.

The eastbound vehicle was occupied by a husband and wife from Eagle River.
“Two individuals died at the scene of the accident , according to a Vilas County sheriff’s office press release,” the article reads. “A call came in at 3:18 p.m. Wednesday reporting a two-vehicle head-on accident on Highway 70 just east of Shady Lane in the township of Cloverland.”
Linda Healy, 57, of St. Germain and 78-year-old Lillian Pulec of Eagle River died at the scene of the head on crash , which reportedly remains under investigation.
“It appears from the preliminary investigation that the westbound vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old female from St. Germain, had crossed the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle head on that was occupied by a husband and wife from Eagle River. Two individuals died at the scene of the accident,” the article reads. “The accident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office, Wisconsin State Patrol and the county coroner’s Office.”
Eagle River Fire Department, Eagle River Ambulance from Eagle River Memorial Hospital, Plum Lake Ambulance, St Germain Fire and Rescue, Spirit Helicopter and the Vilas County Highway Department assisted at the scene.
