In August 2010, after receiving hundreds if not thousands of complaints of early failures, DePuy finally recalled the following hip implants:

DePuy ASR™ Hip Resurfacing System
Our firm is currently investigating cases against DePuy Orthopedics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson. The cases will seek recourse for the individuals that have had a recalled hip device implanted into their body and now may need to have it removed. Many health concerns have been reported by patients with the faulty DePuy hip implants, including hip pain, swelling, discoloration, metallosis, psuedotumors, frequent dislocations, and even revision surgery.
Early investigations have revealed a flawed design of the metal-on-metal devices leads to an unsafe release of metal ions into the body, which can harm the body in several different ways.
