Best TBI Attorney Milwaukee WINetflix is set to debut a documentary in March that details a woman’s recovery from a traumatic brain injury (TBI).

“My Beautiful Broken Brain” voyages into the fragility of the human brain after Dutch-French filmmaker Lotje Sodderland suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and found herself starting over in a world unknown to her; a world without language and of altered perception.

Co-directed by Sophie Robinson and Sodderland, and exec produced by David Lynch and Michael Houldey, “My Beautiful Broken Brain” takes viewers through the detailed journey of Sodderland’s rehabilitation and recovery.

The film documents Sodderland’s struggle against limitations and her experience through a first-time neurological experiment.

On a Kickstarter Campaign page devoted to the film, Sodderland describes her sensory perception following the brain injury.

‘Everything’s double as loud, double as colorful, double as beautiful. Double as painful, double as scary, double as crippling,” she said.

“It was in the early hours of a Monday in November 2011 that 34 year-old Sodderland was woken from her sleep with a pain in her head so excruciating that she lay on the floor waiting to die,” the Kickstarter page reads.

“She was experiencing a massive life threatening brain hemorrhage. ‘My Beautiful Broken Brain’ is the story of something that could happen to any of us at any time – a film born out of necessity to help a young woman make sense of having to start her life again when she was only half way through it. Incredibly, thanks to medical intervention she survived, and now through Kickstarter, she presents us with a unique filmmaking opportunity.”

Lynch is quoted in Variety as saying he is thrilled to be a part of the project.

“The brain is truly fascinating, and much in the way that our brains are able to achieve total coherence — finding enlightenment and fulfillment — you will surely be moved and inspired by this journey of self-rediscovery,” he said.
