Eight people were reportedly injured after a car collided with a parked Milwaukee County Transit System bus (MCTS). The incident occurred early Thursday morning, on Jan. 12.
According to an article posted on the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel , the collision happened near N. 30th and Burleigh streets about 5:45 a.m.
“Brendan Conway, a spokesman for MCTS, said the Route 30 bus had pulled over and was parked when a car ran into it from behind. The driver and six passengers were taken to hospitals for checks, but no one appeared to be seriously injured, Conway said. He said another bus and driver were put into service to continue to the 30 route,” the article reads.
A Milwaukee Fire Department spokesman told the Milwaukee Wisconsin Journal Sentinel his agency responded, but none of the injuries sustained as a result of the crash appeared to be life threatening or critical.
The people involved or injured in the crash were reportedly transported for evaluations by private ambulances. At least eight people were transported, suggesting the striking vehicle’s driver also suffered injuries as a result of the collision, the MWJS reports.
Neither Conway nor the fire department knew if the car’s driver was charged in connection to the crash, according to the article.
