2016 Wisconsin Trial Lawyer of the Year
Milwaukee Attorney Randall Rozek Receives the Honor
Milwaukee Attorney Randall Rozek has been selected to receive the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award from the Wisconsin Association for Justice (WAJ). Rozek is the youngest recipient of the award in history.
WAJ established the Robert L. Habush Trial Lawyer of the Year Award in 2000 to recognize a trial lawyer who has made contributions to the trial bar by handling a case involving a significant change in the law or a precedent-setting suit, or by donating time on a committee or project that benefited injured consumers. The award is named in honor of Robert L. Habush for his years of dedication and commitment to the fight for the rights of accident victims nationwide and for the tremendous time and energy he has devoted to WAJ.
Attorney Randy Rozek has devoted his entire professional career to representing individuals against large corporations and insurance companies. Rozek graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1996 and has been representing personal injury victims for the last 20 years. In 2004, he founded Rozek Law Offices and has focused his practice on the representation of victims of serious, life-changing injuries. Attorney Rozek takes great pride in the opportunity to help his clients rebuild their lives following wrongful injuries that could have been prevented. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the American Association for Justice Traumatic Brain Injury Litigation Group and routinely lectures nationally on brain injury related topics and recommended actions for a successful trial outcome.
In May of 2016, a jury returned a $7.25 million verdict in a difficult bicycle vs. pickup truck collision after only 3 days of trial. The award was based on Rozek’s success at excluding certain damaging evidence and overcoming unfavorable testimony from the defendant, investigating police officer and an independent witness. In his closing, Rozek asked for $5.25 million, but the jury recognized the severity of his client’s injury and instead awarded $7.25 million.
Randy stated, “I’m extremely humbled to receive the Robert L. Habush Trial of the Year Award, just as I am always humbled to represent the deserving victims that I have and will continue to fight for against the large corporations and insurance companies. I have great respect for Mr. Habush and I’m very honored to belong to the small group of great trial lawyers that have received the award in years past.”

“I was proud to receive the 2016 Trial Lawyer of the Year Award by the Wisconsin Association for Justice. It was a tremendous, humbling experience. It’s named after Robert Habush who is a pioneer in the field and a great educator for all of us trial lawyers. I was the youngest trial lawyer to receive it. I was extremely honored to receive the award and it provides me with a great incentive to continue to fight for my clients, despite the adversity and despite how hard the fight is. It provides me with a sense of obligation to do what’s right and to take on the large insurance company, to take on the large corporation and to fight for the individual.”
