Authorities told media that the single-engine plane apparently struck some power lines in east-central Wisconsin, causing the plane to crash to the ground.
According to an ABC 7 Chicago News article , the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office says the plane came down Wednesday morning near an intersection in the Town of Fond du Lac.
“The sheriff’s office says two people aboard the plane suffered ‘numerous injuries’ and were taken to hospitals, the article reads. “Authorities say the plane apparently struck power lines along Esterbrook Road and lost control.”
Part of the road was closed while emergency and power crews worked at the scene of the plane crash.
There was no mention in the article of charges filed in connection to the crash or whether the plane was commercial or private.
The crash comes just one day following another small plane crash along a highway in Winnebago County. WBAY-TV reports that officials say no one was seriously injured this crash.
“WBAY-TV reports the single-engine Cessna came to rest Tuesday night on an embankment off Highway 10, about 5 miles from Appleton International Airport,” an article in the Star Tribune reads. “The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says everyone is OK.”
The FAA is investigating the crash and the Star Tribune had no mention of any charges filed.
