Emma Fairthorne posted the video after her daughter, Georgia, suffered a serious head injury when she fell from a skateboard while visiting family.
The video Fairthorne recorded has been watched more than a million times online.
According to an article by Sky News , Georgia, 19, has been in an induced coma at University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff since the accident on August 5.

“The teenager has since undergone surgery for a bleed on the brain,” the article reads. “In the video, Emma Fairthorne urged parents to ‘just take care’ and ensure their children wore helmets. She said I wish as a
Emma made the comment that she doesn’t know what quality of life her daughter will have if she survives the next few days.
“It should have been a broken ankle or wrist or a few cuts and scrapes but not brain surgery and intensive care,” she said. “Take care of your kids and get them a helmet when they are on their scooters and skateboards because it only took one second.”
Georgia has reportedly had an intercranial pressure monitoring device placed in her head and she continues to be sedated. On Thursday morning Fairthorne filmed an update in which she said that doctors were keeping her daughter “ticking over.”
“They are just letting her own body balance itself out. We are really pleased, she said in the updated video. “They’ve upped the sedation from 20 to 25 and she is still reacting under that sedation so she is really getting there with this.”
Sky News reports Fairthorne said that since she posted her first video on Facebook she has been inundated with pictures of people buying helmets for their children.
