One man is dead and three others were injured in a Wisconsin crash on Wednesday that involved three vehicles.
According to various media reports, the man who died was 29-years-old and from Milwaukee.
The three-vehicle crash occurred in Waukesha County, according to media reports.
“According to the Wisconsin State Patrol, Demario A. Harrison, 29, of Milwaukee died of injuries sustained in the crash, just after 10:30 a.m. on Highway 41 northbound located just south of County Line Road near Menomonee Falls,” an article in the Waukesha Patch reads.
According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel , Harrison was a passenger in a Chevrolet Cavalier that was stopped in the center lane when it was struck from behind, first by a Ford van, then by a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
“Harrison was transported via Flight for Life to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa, where he died from his injuries,” the Patch article reads.
No information was offered in the article about the extent of the other three people’s injuries and no names were released to the media as of Thursday.
There is also no information in regards to whether any charges were filed in connection to the crash.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation says following too closely behind another motorist, or tailgating, is an aggressive driving behavior. You could be ticketed for tailgating. Worse, you could cause a crash, and end up hurting yourself and wrecking your car in the process.
There was no indication in the article that anyone was tailgating, but Wisconsin law states that the operator of a motor vehicle shall not follow another vehicle more closely than is reasonable and prudent, having due regard for the speed of such vehicle and the traffic upon and the condition of the highway.
It’s all about being able to stop your car in time in case the vehicle in front of you suddenly hits the brakes. The DOT offers several tips to avoid rear ending another vehicle here.
