Three women who were Uber passengers died after the vehicle they were traveling in was struck.
Milwaukee police said a Lexus was southbound on 2nd Street when it apparently disregarded a red light and struck a Ford that was westbound on Clybourn, according to a report by Fox 6. Officials say the two male occupants of the Lexus fled the scene on foot after the accident.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning in Milwaukee.
“Three women were killed in a car crash at Second St. and Clybourn in Downtown Milwaukee early Sunday and the suspect in that crash has now turned himself in, an article posted by the Milwaukee Patch reads. “Jasen Randhawa, of Mequon, was being held in the Milwaukee County Jail on Tuesday. His bond amount is currently unspecified, and charges are pending, according to jail records.”
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office recently released the identities of the women who were killed. They have been identified as Amy C. Taylor, 32; Ashley L. Sawatzke, 30; and Lindsey B. Cohen, 35.
The Uber driver was also reportedly injured as a result of the crash. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the driver. You can access it here.
