A pedestrian was struck and killed in an early Thursday morning crash last week on Interstate 94.
Various media reports say the man, who was in his thirties, was from the Burlington area. The incident happened just south of Highway 158, according to a press release from the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.
“At 3:05 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 27), Kenosha County deputies and the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident. The southbound vehicle, a 2007 Acura SUV, was in the far left southbound lane and struck a pedestrian on the passenger side of the vehicle,” an article by The Journal Times reads. “The vehicle was being driven by a 30-year-old male with a 29-year-old female passenger, both of Milwaukee.”
Neither the 30-year-old driver of the SUV or his occupant were injured as a result of the crash. Names were still being withheld as of the Friday morning after the crash, pending notification of family members.
“Traffic on I-94 was rerouted while the investigation was taking place,” the article reads. “Southbound traffic was reopened at 5:23 a.m. At this point, speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors.”
There was no mention in the article as to whether or not the driver would face any charges in connection to the incident.
