A three-vehicle crash in Dunn County left one man dead and four others injured last Friday. According to various media reports, a 70-year-old man from Knapp died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the crash.
“Ronnie Imboden, 70, of Knapp, was taken to the hospital after he was ejected from the vehicle he was driving in a three-vehicle crash on Friday night,” an article by WEAU reads. “The other drivers and one passenger were also taken to the hospital. Their medical conditions are unknown at this time.”
The crash was reported last Friday about 5:15 p.m. on U.S. 12 near 429th Street in the Town of Menomonie, the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office told WEAU.
When deputies arrived on the scene they discovered that three cars were involved in the crash.
“A 2013 Kia Soul operated by a 56-year-old male from Colfax was traveling east on USH 12 when it collided with a westbound 2004 Chevy Venture van operated by a 70-year-old male from Knapp,” the article reads. “The driver of the van (Imboden) was ejected and then the cars were struck by an eastbound 2011 Chevrolet Colorado operated by a 43-year-old female from Wilson.”
The truck came to rest on top of Imboden and he had to be extricated before being taken to Mayo Clinic in Eau Claire. He died at the hospital.
“The male driver and passenger of the Kia Soul and the female driver of the Chevrolet Colorado were transported Mayo Clinic in Menomonie,” the article reads.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol. The article does not mention whether anyone is facing charges in connection to the incident or the current status of the other four people who were injured in the crash.
