An early morning crash on I-90 near Wisconsin Dells claimed the life of a Minnesota truck driver and injured two others, according to various media reports.
“The Wisconsin State Patrol said Koshin Mohamed Omar, 42, of St. Cloud, Minnesota, was driving a Freightliner semi-truck eastbound on I-90 at about 1:30 a.m. when he ran off the road,” an article published by the Milwaukee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel reads. “The truck struck a guard rail, traveled into a ditch line and hit several trees.”
According to the article, the impact of the crash caused the guard rail to protrude into the highway’s lanes, which caused two cars to collide with it. A 33-year-old Pardeeville woman was the driver of one of those vehicles and a 39-year-old Milwaukee woman was driving the other vehicle that crashed into the guard rail.
The two women reportedly suffered injuries that are not life threatening. There was no mention in the article about whether or not either woman was transported to the hospital as a result of their injuries.
“An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing. Omar was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation,” the article reads.
No other information in regards to the crash was released as of Jan. 3.
