One person is dead following an incident where two trucks collided near Mosinee last Friday morning. According to various media reports, the Kronewetter Police Department identified the man as 58-year-old Charles Rodeback.
“Investigators said the crash happened at 10:19 a.m. Friday and involved two vehicles. Both vehicles had a single occupant,” an article posted to the NewsChannel 7 website reads.
Kronenwetter Police Chief Terry McHugh told NewsChannel 7 that a utility pickup truck with a male driver collided with another truck that was pulling a trailer. Rodeback was driving the vehicle that was pulling the trailer and he reportedly was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
“We’ve got one vehicle that was traveling east bound on 153,” McHugh explained in the article. “Then the second vehicle was traveling south on Pioneer and went through the stop sign and went through the intersection.”
McHugh told media that he believes the truck running the stop sign is likely what caused the trucks to crash. There’s no mention in the article whether the man driving the utility truck was charged or is facing charges in connection to the collision.
Both trucks landed in the front lawn of a home at the intersection, but neither vehicle hit the home during the crash. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
Authorities have said that alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The intersection reopened just before 3 p.m. last Friday following an investigation into the matter.
