The wife of WWE legend Jim Ross is reportedly in an Oklahoma hospital fighting for her life after being involved in a scooter crash last Monday night.
Jim Ross wrote a blog post about it on his website last Wednesday, saying that his wife Jan “needs a miracle.”
Jan reportedly was driving her Vespa when she was hit from behind by another driver. Jan was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and suffered a serious brain injury as a result of the incident.
“This has been a week that has changed my life forever,” Jim wrote on the blog post.
“Monday night at approximately 9:30 pm while I was recording the Ross Report about 30 miles from our home, my wife Jan was riding her Vespa home from the gym when (she) was struck from behind by an automobile driven by a 17-year-old young man. Jan suffered a catastrophic brain injury including multiple skull fractures. My little Angel was unfortunately not wearing a helmet which arguably would have prevented the extreme nature of her injuries.”
“ I will fully admit that there has been no experience in my life that could have prepared me for this life changing week. To see one’s life partner and love of one’s life being kept alive via life support equipment is tragically heartbreaking.”
Jim also mentioned in the blog post that his wife has helped him battle multiple bouts of depression, Bells palsy attacks, a dependence on Ambian, and has nursed him back to health after serious colon surgery that threatened his life.
Jim said that in order for his wife to have a chance at survival, the swelling in her brain must subside.
“We hope that the swelling of Jan’s brain will subside soon as it must for her to survive,” Jim wrote. “It’s that simple. Nonetheless my little, Italian angel who loves her Steelers and all things Pittsburgh is fighting for all’s she worth to save her life.”
Update:
Unfortunately due to the nature of her injuries, Ross’ wife passed away on March 20th, she was 55-years old.
