Three people were injured as a result of a roll-over crash that closed Highway 21 down for hours. Various media reports say the incident occurred near Omro on Friday afternoon.
“The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says it appears the driver of a green SUV was going to try to pass a car and pulled out into the path of an oncoming sedan, hitting the sedan head-on,” an article posted on the WBAY website reads.
After the SUV struck the sedan, it reportedly ended up on its roof on the side of the highway. Two people were in the sedan at the time of the crash and one person was in the SUV.
“Medical helicopters from Neenah and Fond du Lac were called out, but when rescuers pulled the victims from the wreckage they determined the injuries weren’t life-threatening, and all three were transported by ambulances,” the WBAY article reports.
The crash reportedly occurred at Rushford Avenue in the town of Rushford, about five miles west of Omro. Part of Highway 21 was closed in both directions for approximately 3 hours as officials investigated the crash.
There’s no mention in the article whether anyone was charged in connection to the crash.
