If you’ve suffered a brain injury and you’ve been referred to a neurologist, you can expect that a neurologist is a medical doctor with experience treating brain and spine problems. The first part of your appointment with a neurologist will involve a medical history and it’s important that you get the medical history right. Often times it helps to bring a friend or a family member with you to help explain what’s been going on since you’ve been injured.

It also helps to bring a symptom checklist, which is available at our website and you can just check off the symptoms that you’ve experienced because you’re not going to have a lot of time during the visit to explain everything. One of your problems may be memory problems, which means you’re not going to remember all of the symptoms that you’ve experienced. The neurologist will also do a neurological examination and the neurologist will make treatment recommendations such as referrals to advanced imaging specialists, neural endocrinologists, a variety of different specialists that help in treatment of symptoms following brain injury.

At Rozek Law offices we can help our clients find the right specialists for their type of injury and we know which neurologists specialize in traumatic brain injury . If you have questions about what you can expect or how to handle your appointment, feel free to give us a call.
