BioDirection, Inc. announced Wednesday that it will participate in the International Brain Injury Association’s 12 th World Congress on Brain Injury. The event is scheduled for March 29-April 1 at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
BioDirection, Inc. is a privately-held medical device company developing novel and rapid point-of care products for the objective management of concussion and other traumatic brain injuries (TBI).
BioDirection’s first product is called the Tbit system. The Tbit system is the world’s first multiplexing platform utilizing patented biosensing nanowire technology that can detect and measure very low concentrations of “biomarker” proteins released from the brain after a traumatic brain injury.
“The flexible platform is fully scalable with multiplexing functionality, providing the ability to measure virtually any protein biomarker panel from whole blood,” the press release reads . “The Tbit System includes a disposable cartridge and portable analyzer capable of generating a test result in less than two minutes from a single drop of blood at the earliest stages of an injury.”
IBIA World Congress is the largest gathering of international professionals working in the field of brain injury. Delegates are comprised of physicians, psychologists and neuropsychologists, therapists, social workers, nurses, case managers, legal professionals, advocates and all others working in the field of brain injury.
The aim of the 12th World Congress is to provide an opportunity for establishing collegial relationships with international professionals focused on the care and/or service of persons with acquired brain injury and/or the science of brain injury research.
More than 1,400 brain injury professionals attended the 2014 World Congress held in San Francisco, and the 2017 Congress is expected to exceed those numbers.
